Department of Fine Art and Design


The main goal of the department is to provide quality educational services in the field of aesthetic education and the creation of an educational environment aimed at the development of creative activity in the process of guided learning.


History of the Department

The department was founded in 1970 on the basis of the Faculty of Physics at Przhevalsk Pedagogical Institute to train specialists in “Fine Arts, Drawing and Labor”.

The founder of the department is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts, member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic Shaimkulov Belek Shaimkulovich.

He initiated the process of bringing valuable samples of classical plaster casts to the department, which are still used by the teachers of the department in their teaching methods.

In addition, a stable material and technical base was created. Taking into account the specificity, the administration at that time allocated a separate building.

In its historical course the chair underwent changes, so in 1974 it obtained the status of the Art and Graphic Department.  During these years, teachers of fine arts of the highest qualification from universities in Russia devoted their work and teaching activities here: Osmonov T.Zh., Uvarova N.M., Begov A., Filippova L.M., Guseva V.L., Begov A.A., Kang HI, Tyugai.

In the 2012-2013 academic year, the department was reorganized as part of the optimization and merged into the Kyrgyz Faculty of Philology, Pedagogy and Art. The department was renamed the “Department of Art and Design,” which works to train personnel in the field of art. Currently, the department is headed by a member of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic, docent A.K. Orozobaev.

The educational goals of the GEP EP
The goals of the GEP EP in the 570500 Fine Arts major with an academic bachelor’s degree in Personal Learning and Education.
In the area of learning, the purpose of the GEP EP is: “Training in the field of basic humanities, natural sciences, information, social and socio-psychological knowledge, obtaining higher profiled (at the bachelor level), allowing the graduate to work successfully in his chosen field of activity, have universal and subject-specific competencies that contribute to his social mobility and stability in the labor market”.

In the field of personality education the purpose of the GEP EP in the direction of training 570500 Fine Arts with an academic bachelor’s degree is:

“Development of professional and personal qualities of a specialist, formation of morally humanistic principles of activity, socialization of personality, education and self-education of a specialist capable of managing and organizing his work”.

The purpose (mission) of the GEP Bachelor’s degree in the direction of training 570500 Fine Arts to prepare a bachelor for professional activity in accordance with the qualification characteristics.

The goal is consonant with the mission of the educational organization GEP EP in
570500 Fine Arts with a Bachelor’s degree is: training a specialist in pedagogical work, demanded in the regional, national and international labor markets, with knowledge, skills and abilities of modern social technologies, possessing high personal qualities and knowledge of human cultural values.

570500 Fine Arts with an academic degree Bachelor is: the formation of a specialist in art pedagogical work, demanded in all areas of cultural, aesthetic, pedagogical orientation, with extensive knowledge and skills in the legal, economic, social, spiritual and moral sphere.

The undergraduate GEP aims to develop students:

  • determination and organization in carrying out their mission;
  • diligence, responsibility and citizenship in the implementation of assigned tasks;
  • independence in the culture of thinking, generalization, analysis and perception of information;
  • communicativeness and tolerance in the perception of the environment;
  • the ability to make independent decisions;
  • the possibility of using new technologies to achieve the goals set, the basics of scientific activity.

The department employs 1 PhD, 2 associate professors, 1 senior lecturer, 6 teachers, 1 master and 1 laboratory assistant. The average age of teachers is 40-60 years old, 6 teachers have passed advanced training in Kiev, St. Petersburg and Vologda. The teachers also received IASHE certificates from the International Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.


Material and technical base of the department

The chair is equipped with plaster stock, visual aids, naturalistic stock, easels for students. The department has 10 classrooms, 1 projector, 1 sculpture workshop, 1 woodworking workshop, 1 sewing workshop, 1 jewelry workshop.

There is a large educational and methodical fund, in addition to selected publications of Russian publishers.

 




Educational and methodological work

The department is currently working on the implementation of the educational process in the Bologna process. In particular, new curricula have been developed for media creation and curricula comparing the media of the Russian Federation.

Career prospects

Not only local students, but also many ethnic students from neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Russia study in this specialty. Many of our first graduates work in art colleges, schools and government agencies in the United States, Israel, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Russia. In our country, our graduates work in public education as directors and teachers. Some of them are top masters of fine arts.


Student life / Organization of educational work with students

In the 2014 academic year, exhibitions of fine art “The Phenomenon of Manas” were organized, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Ch. The events were held at the highest level and students were awarded booklets and valuable prizes.

The department is also actively involved in the public activities of the university and the region as a whole. On November 26, 2014, K.V. Loshkova, a student of group T-IZO 101, a graduate of the Altai State Academy of Sciences named after M. Shukshin of the Russian Federation, conducted a master class for our students on “Art”.

2 internal mobility students from groups IZO-21, IZO-31 Bakirov A. and Bukarbekova A. studied for 1 semester at Osh State University, Department of Graphic Arts, majoring in “Art”.

– Chongbashev A. – Chief artist of the Craftsmen’s Union “Kyyal”.
– Aidaraliev Yerzhigit is the chief architect of Karakol city architecture.
At the same time, members of the Union of Artists of the Kyrgyz Republic B. Imangaziev, O.A. Abdraev, D.T. Ibrayev, R. Itikeev, A.K. Dabaeva, E.B. Mambetov, and K.K. Kuchumuratov should be noted. Special mention should be made of the famous craftsman Marazykov Almaz, who was engaged in manufacturing products from leather, wood and horn, fashion designer Mambetova Burul, Chynybaeva Kymbat.
