General information about the department:

The Department of Physical Education and Teaching Methods was established in 1999 and was one of the first to train specialists in the direction of “Physical Education Teacher”.

The main goals of the department:

  • obtaining a higher professionally profiled education that allows a graduate to work successfully in the field of physical culture and sports, to possess universal and professional competencies that contribute to his social mobility and stability in the labor market;
  • preparing for life and developing an active civic position;
  • education of purposefulness, organization, hard work, responsibility, citizenship, communication, tolerance, improvement of general culture, personal development;

History

The history of the department begins in 1999 when due to the lack of physical education teachers in the Issyk-Kul region based on the Faculty of Pedagogy and Primary Education of the university, the department of physical culture and methods of teaching sports was organized. Graduates of the Kyrgyz Academy of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as graduates of IKSU. In 2002, the department has renamed the Department of Physical Culture and Methods of its Teaching. From 2012 to the present, the department has been functioning as part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.


Faculty

Currently, the department employs 13 teachers. Among them – candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor – 1; Bachelor of Science, Associate Professor – 1; Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor – 1; associate professors – 3; her teachers 2; teachers 5; including Honored Trainer of the Kyrgyz Republic 2, Excellence in Education 3; Excellence in Physical Education 4; The laboratory assistant employs 1 person.


Material and technical base of the department

For the training of specialists in physical culture, a modern sports complex of the university, methodological rooms №203, 319, gymnasium 20420, as well as playgrounds for football, basketball and volleyball are used. In addition, it is replenished annually with sports equipment and tools.

In addition to training, the department organizes training in football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, chess, toguz korgool, athletics, boxing, ordo, judo, wrestling. The university team prepares students from these educational groups and provides them with leading and prize places by participating in sports games, Universiades, sports competitions. The staff of the department always helps in organizing educational, social events, sports games, sports competitions of the republican, regional, city and university levels, they were repeatedly noted with letters of thanks and gratitude.


Educational and methodical work

In the activities of the department, special attention is paid to educational, research, educational, organizational and methodological, sports, as well as improving the qualifications of teachers. During these years, the staff of the department is working on the development of the textbook “Theoretical and methodological foundations of physical education in secondary schools” in the Kyrgyz language. The above textbook describes the method of teaching sports (basketball, football, athletics, etc.) in school physical culture. In addition, over the past 10 years, the teachers of the department have published more than 5 textbooks and more than 100 scientific articles. Candidate of Economics, associate professor A. Imanbaev published textbooks “The use of physical education for the health improvement of students in pedagogical activity”, “Preparing students for physical education of junior schoolchildren”, etc., associate professor Sh. Dautov “Methods of special physical training for basketball players”, “Individual training of basketball players” and others, associate professor T. Kulchunov “Wrestling tactics”, “Lessons of wrestling in training”, etc. “Teaching mini-football” by teacher A. Usupov, Sulaimanov’s manual “Training of technical and tactical training of volleyball players” … Also, associate professor Dautov Sh.A. prepares a textbook “Theory and methodology of basketball”.

The scientific library of the university has enough textbooks and an electronic library on the disciplines of the specialty. Over the past 10 years, the teachers of the department have published more than 5 textbooks and more than 100 scientific articles. With the aim of using modern teaching technologies, teaching new innovative methods, as well as improving and expanding knowledge, the staff of the department take part in international, republican and local scientific conferences, seminars, trainings, internships. Teachers of the department annually organize methodological seminars for teachers of physical education of secondary schools of the region at the regional and city levels. In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it”.

There are a total of 15 elective courses based on the physical education curriculum. In the first half of the year 11 disciplines were considered. Work programs were developed for elective courses, and teaching aids were provided for special disciplines. In each semester of the academic year, tests are conducted in a special department to check the quality of students’ knowledge. The test results will be discussed at a meeting of the department with the curator, subject teachers. The working programs of the department are developed and approved in accordance with the curriculum and methodical insurance work is carried out. In particular, for each academic year, curricula are created and approved for subjects related to physical education.

Bachelor in the direction 532000 “Physical culture” prepared:

– for teaching activities in all types of educational institutions, in sports organizations and enterprises of various forms of ownership; – to coaching in sports schools, clubs and other organizations of various forms of ownership;

– to organizational and managerial activities, private business in organizations of any form of ownership in the field of physical culture and sports; – to research activities in the field of physical culture and sports;

– to the implementation of recreational and rehabilitation tasks by means of physical culture in physical culture, sports, sports and entertainment, tourist, medical, rehabilitation and preventive institutions of any form of ownership.

Student life / Organization of educational work with students

In general, coaching, organizational and pedagogical practice is carried out in the specialty. According to the curriculum, in the 6th semester of the 3rd year, coaching and organizational practice is held for 3 weeks, during which students undergo practical training in city and regional children’s and youth sports schools, mainly get acquainted with coaching activities. In the 7th semester of the 4th year, teaching practice takes 5 weeks, mainly in secondary schools. Work programs for these practices are prepared and approved in a timely manner. During the last week of the internship, student reports are accepted, recommendations are given and final grades are given. Reports on all practices are kept at the department.


Department graduates

Since its foundation, the department has trained more than 500 graduates in the field of physical education. Among them are masters of sports, masters of sports of international class, as well as participants in the Olympic Games, multiple champions.

Graduate of 2012 Karimkulov Azamat Kerimkulovich. He began his career in 2012-2013 as a physical education teacher at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Children’s Lyceum named after Kh. Karasaev. In 2013, he was appointed deputy director of the Issyk-Kul regional specialized sports school of the Olympic reserve for children and youth. In 2014, he was appointed deputy head of the department of physical culture and sports of the city of Karakol, winner of the nomination “Best student of 2012”. Master of Sports in volleyball of the Kyrgyz Republic. Repeated champion of the Kyrgyz Republic in volleyball. Participant of the Asian Championship 2018 in Tashkent. In 2017, he was awarded the “Certificate of Honor” by the Mayor of Karakol. In 2016, he was awarded the “Certificate of Honor” from the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Issyk-Kul region. In 2019, he was awarded the “Certificate of Honor” by the Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2019, he was awarded the badge of the Karakol City Hall. Since 2018, he is currently the head of the department for youth affairs, physical culture and sports of the city of Karakol.

Graduate of 2010 Abdrakhmanov Tilekmat Sharshenalievich. Head of the Issyk-Kul Regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports for Youth. In 2010 he was the best student of ISU, in 2012 he won the competition for the best teacher, in 2019 he was awarded the Order of the Mayor of Karakol. 2004 graduate Shazydaev Kanybek Borubaevich. Since 2015 – Director of the Karakol Specialized School of Olympic Reserve for Children and Youth. He is the best in education, the owner of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and many diplomas. 2014 graduate Omurbekov Akysbek Orozalievich. Director of the Children’s and Youth Sports School in Karakol. He is the senior karate coach at the school. He trained several masters of sports in karate-do of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as champions of Central Asia and the World. For example: Toytonova Kymbat – multiple champion of Kyrgyzstan in karate-do, two-time winner of Asia, winner of the World. 4th year student Bolotbek uulu Adilet is a multiple champion of Kyrgyzstan in karate-do, champion of Kazakhstan, Russia, World medalist. 4th year student Bolgonbaev Bakbergen is a multiple champion of Kyrgyzstan in karate, champion of Central Asia.
